Cut and Curl Candle-The lost art of hand-sculpting
candles goes back two centuries. The 18th century chandlers perfected
carving and shaping molten wax into intricate designs.(MT-4 pictured left
is $23.99 plus S&H)
We closely follow the methods used by the early craftsmen. Each
candle is hand-dipped 30 times in hot, liquid wax, then carved,
braided, stretched and curled while wax is pliable. Finally, each
candle is dipped in a special glaze leaving a hard and glossy exterior
finish.

an astonishing gift for three-dimensional art, results in sculpture
so intriguing and life like it is without equal.
Since 1984, museum-quality
reproductions of these sculptures have been cast in natural mineral
